Is that not the cutest thing you've ever seen?

Don't worry, I definitely went and bought Noah the same shoes and socks because they were just too cute!

I also got him this adorable golf hat so he'll be ready for the Masters coming up!

6 months...

6 months ago, I got a phone call to hurry to the hospital...

6 months ago, I spent a day in shock...

6 months ago our lives were forever changed...

6 months ago, my Daddy went to Heaven...

Tonight driving home, memories flooded my heart as we drove past Summerville Elementary School. Six months ago that I drove the same route on our way to his funeral. It was one of the saddest but proudest moments of my life and something that I will never forget.

Our family was escorted from the funeral home to the church by the police... the flags were lowered at Towne Hall in memory of him, there were lines of fireman at each side street standing in salute, and the office staff of the school were standing outside the school. The tears fell down my face 6 months ago and fell once again today.

I came home and found comfort in the words of Steven Curtis Chapman in his song "With Hope". (The lyrics and video are below)

This is not at all how
We thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
We had so many dreams
And now you've gone away
And left us with the memories of your smile
And nothing we can say
And nothing we can do
Can take away the pain
The pain of losing you, but ...

We can cry with hope
We can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye is not the end, oh no
And we can grieve with hope
'Cause we believe with hope
(There's a place by God's grace)
There's a place where we'll see your face again
We'll see your face again

And never have I known
Anything so hard to understand
And never have I questioned more
The wisdom of God's plan
But through the cloud of tears
I see the Father's smile and say well done
And I imagine you
Where you wanted most to be
Seeing all your dreams come true
'Cause now you're home
And now you're free, and ...

We have this hope as an anchor
'Cause we believe that everything
God promised us is true, so ...

We wait with hope
And we ache with hope
We hold on with hope
We let go with hope

Uncle Andrew

Noah loved having Uncle Andrew here for a week.  We think Noah was trying to say "Andrew" a few times this week.  It was cute!  Here is a cute picture of them reading together.

Bath Time!

Noah loves taking a bath!  As soon as he hears Chris running the water each night, he takes off so fast to get into the bathroom. He loves to watch the water run and play in it. He's so funny!

Another hurdle down...

We made it through another hurdle this week.  While my brother was here, we went to the Creek House.  The Creek House was my dad's get-a-way.  It was his favorite weekend spot and he spent a lot of time there.  We have decided to sell it so we needed to go through it and take all the personal things out.  I think we handled it pretty well and there were no tears-just lots of laughs!

We did find some interesting things
-a VERY old watermelon (GROSS)
- tons of Christmas decorations
-Braves baseball cards (I might have had a crush on Tom Glavine long ago so I was excited to find his card)
-every single garage sale item known to man
-an entire closet full of hotel shampoo and soap!

That man never threw away a thing!

In Our Hearts
We thought of you with love today.
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday.
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories.
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake.
With which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart..

Update

I just realized that you can't see all of the pictures from Noah's birthday party post.  If you click on "Read More" you can see the rest.  I'm not sure why it's showing up like that-I'm still trying to figure all this stuff out.

You can find the post by clicking here:  Noah's Birthday Post

Family Time

Noah has gotten too spend some time with the Terry family lately.  A few weeks ago, he saw his Great Uncle Gary:

He loves spending time with his Great-Grandpa every Sunday:

He loves reading with his Aunt Brianne!  If you look closely you can see that he likes to lick the tomato and the orange in the book.  It is hilarious!

And finally, here is a cute video with his Papa making him laugh:

Ashley and Kayla visit

Last week, one of my oldest friend Ashley came to visit from New York with her little girl Kayla.  We went and had dinner at her mom's house.  It's safe to say that Noah really liked Kayla! I'm not sure the feelings were mutual!

We can't wait till August when the Wilcox family comes to visit again!

Noah loves his Grandmas!

We recently took some cute pictures of Noah with signs for his grandmas.

He made my mom one (Grammy) for Valentine's Day.

Then he made Chris' mom (Grandma) one for her birthday.

They were a hit!

First Birthday Party!

This is the longest post ever!  Noah's first birthday party turned out great!  We had it at my mom's house.

This is the invitation we used.  I ordered it from Etsy.com from this seller: TriciaNaeDesigns.  She was so great to work with!
These were the decorations that I made.  They actually were pretty easy to do!
I love how this area turned out. There was a picture for each month.
Check out the cake!  Isn't it AMAZING?
